Sembcorp’s cogeneration plants provide electricity for the grid and steam for industrial companies on Jurong Island

We are responsible for Singapore’s first privately-developed independent power plant. In 2001, it was also the country’s largest cogeneration facility at 815 megawatts. Today, we have two gas-fired cogeneration facilities on Jurong Island that are capable of producing 1,219MW gross capacity and 1,100 tonnes of steam per hour. To complement our current portfolio of energy assets, we completed the acquisition of a 50% interest in Senoko Energy as of June 2025, enhancing our capability to support our nation’s energy transition.

Sembcorp Hydrogen-ready Power Plant

We are developing a 600MW hydrogen-ready power plant on Jurong Island, significantly enhancing our capacity to support Singapore’s energy transition. Scheduled to begin operations in 2026, the facility will be equipped for hydrogen use from day one, with the flexibility to increase hydrogen blending levels over time with minimal modifications to existing infrastructure.

Sembcorp holds an effective stake of 50% in Senoko Energy

In June 2025, Sembcorp strengthened its energy portfolio by acquiring an additional interest in Senoko Energy, increasing its effective stake to 50%. This strategic move enhances our ability to support Singapore’s energy transition.
