Fostering a culture of safety at Sembcorp Solar Safety Day 2024

December 17, 2024

At Sembcorp, safety is more than just a priority – it’s a core value that shapes the way we work every day.

The inaugural Sembcorp Solar Safety Day 2024 brought together our network of partners in engineering, procurement and construction for a day dedicated to safety, learning, and collaboration. Held at Penjuru Recreation Centre on 13 December 2024 and themed “Go Home Safe Every Day,” the event provided more than 600 Sembcorp staff and EPC employees an opportunity to reinforce safety best practices, recognise our partners who uphold exemplary standards, and deepen safety awareness through hands-on and impactful experiences.

A key highlight of the event was a series of interactive safety games designed to educate participants on essential safety protocols and procedures. By encouraging teamwork and a collaborative approach to safety, these activities helped participants identify workplace hazards and reinforced safe practices to prevent incidents.

In addition, participants benefitted from insightful sharing sessions and educational booths hosted by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The SPF delivered valuable lessons on scam advisories and crime prevention, equipping participants with the knowledge to safeguard themselves and their workplaces. Meanwhile, SCDF officers conducted hands-on fire safety and first aid drills, providing participants with practical experience and the confidence to respond effectively during emergencies.

As we look to the future, Sembcorp remains committed to advancing workplace safety and ensuring that our workplaces are always protected, setting clear standards for safety and accountability in everything we do.
