Augmenting our well-established presence in Oman’s power and water desalination sector, we have developed our first greenfield renewables project in the Middle East.
Through a partnership between Sembcorp Utilities and Jinko Power Technology, Sembcorp Jinko Shine SAOC (SJSS) was awarded by Oman Power and Water Procurement (PWP) to build, own and operate the Manah Solar II Independent Power Project (Manah ll IPP) in Manah, Sultanate of Oman.
In December 2024, we successfully completed the acceptance tests to achieve the commercial operation of the Manah II Solar Independent Power Project more than four months ahead of schedule.
With an installed peak capacity of 588MW, it is Sembcorp’s largest utility-scale solar farm in our global renewables portfolio.
The project is backed by a 20-year power purchase agreement with PWP, contributing to Oman's goal of achieving 30 percent renewable energy in its electricity mix by 2030.
