To support national strategic thrusts, the Indonesian government has entrusted Sembcorp with developing Kendal Industrial Park (KIP) – the largest industrial township development of its kind in central Java. It is also the first industrial development on Java Island to be designated a special economic zone (SEZ) with accompanying government-provided investment incentives for manufacturing tenants.
Featuring themed industrial clusters, including Fashion City, Food City, Furniture Hub and Building Materials zone, each cluster targets companies in various stages of the industry value chain.
Moreover, KIP offers ready-built factories with modular designs for quick start-up. The factories can be installed with rooftop solar to generate clean energy and help tenants lower their carbon footprint. An on-site polytechnic trains local talents for the furniture industry.
