Sembcorp endeavours to bring quality healthcare closer and more accessible to local communities in areas where it operates. Efforts to improve the quality of life and provide access to better public healthcare are at the heart of Sembcorp’s community engagements. Sembcorp’s initiatives around healthcare and well-being are improving the quality of life of the communities in and around its operational areas.
Sembcorp’s healthcare initiatives like periodic health camps, awareness drives on seasonal diseases, regular doctor visits to local villages and prescribed medicines given free of cost are providing significant benefits to the communities. These health camps are also helping in screening and referring cases based on criticality, to the government or private hospital, to avail government’s free medical service schemes.
At our renewable sites in Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, “Mobile Medical Units” have been deployed to reach out to the doorsteps and deliver primary healthcare to the deserving segments of society in remote areas, strengthening the availability of proper medical facilities. Through these healthcare interventions, Sembcorp is not only providing access to healthcare facilities to the local communities where it operates but also contributing towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
